MET High School
Sac Film Camp is a 5-day workshop program designed for kids between ages 8 to 17 years old.
This program aims to cover a little bit of all. Since the birth of cinema to shooting a short film with the kids.
One of the main goals here is to expose kids to film writing, production, acting, and post-production.
Above all, have fun!
Workshop will happen from July 15th (Tuesday) to the 18th (Friday)
Ending with a screening night for family and friends at Tupi Cafe's Rooftop (2 blocks from MET)
This five-day workshop will be happening from 10am to 3pm.
Screening day will be 5th day.
We will be forming teams to work together on the short films.
Each team will have crew members in different functions.
Each day we will be visiting one of the following sections: Cinema History, Film Crews,
Film Gear, Creative Writing and Acting, Film Production, and Shooting a short.
Here are the sections breakdown below.
We will dive into the birth of the cinema and how it became
this massive global industry over the last 110 years.
Cinema History will cover how the first cameras were made,
and how it was fastly adopted by the world with a market-oritented
tool of entertainment.
We will learn and understand all the film crew and film gear used then and now. We will also analize how technology affects the industry on how we keep developing storytelling through it.
Let's breakdown a good story fundamentals and how it has an effect on how people perceive narrative. In a children-friendly way we'll explore this elements and practice it.

We will also form groups and create our short film story. The goal is to create a compelling 2-minute short film for production.
We will also choose locations, actors, props, etc.
We will work on shooting our story. We will breakdown scenes, check dialogues and actions, find locations and more.
This is the shooting day! We will be recording all the scenes in our script with the crew and talent. Actors, lighing, audio, camera and more.
We will use Sacramento Midtown / Downtown locations to explore our narrative and capture our main photography and B-Roll. We will also create a Making-of crew to document the film proccess.
We will spend the day doing post-production. Crews will get together with Eduardo and learn how to do editing, along with sound design, and other post-production steps.
We will get together to watch our final product and celebrate our colletive creation. Parents and friends can be invited to the exhibition night.
Our week program is divided by 5 days of acctivities.
We'll work with half-day schedule on morning and afternoons classes.

Sac Film Workshop classes will take place at the MET Highschool.
The space will offer us the infrastructure to learn indoors.
